KAHP Giving Away $20 Kroger Gift Cards to Attendees Receiving the Flu Shot at the Kentucky State Fair
Louisville, Ky. (Aug. 5, 2025) – The Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade association representing Medicaid managed care organizations and commercial insurers in the Commonwealth, today announced the return of its popular flu shot pop-up clinic and incentive giveaway at the Kentucky State Fair.
Now in its fifth consecutive year, the KAHP clinic has become a staple at the Fair. Throughout the duration of the Fair, KAHP will offer attendees a $20 Kroger gift card (while supplies last) when they visit the Healthy Horizons Pavilion in South Wing B and receive a flu shot. The clinic will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Sundays).
Medicaid members may also be eligible to receive an additional incentive provided by their health plan, on top of the KAHP gift card giveaway.
“No one wants to be sidelined by the flu,” said Tom Stephens, President & CEO of KAHP. “Getting vaccinated now reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalization later — which means better health outcomes and lower costs for everyone, including patients. And at the Fair, you can do it quickly and walk away with a $20 Kroger gift card.”
Across the nation, flu shots prevent thousands of hospitalizations and deaths each year and help reduce strain on our health system here in Kentucky during the busy fall and winter months.
KAHP is promoting the initiative through targeted digital advertising and radio outreach in the run-up to the Fair and around the Fairgrounds.
