KAHP To Hold “Healthy Spring Break Giveaway” in Louisville

Event aimed at JCPS students in need on Mar. 28 at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center will provide healthy food, high protein snacks, and take-home activities.

Louisville, Ky. (March 28, 2024) – Today, Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade group representing the Commonwealth’s Medicaid managed care organizations and commercial health insurance providers announced its “Healthy Spring Break Giveaway” to be held Mar. 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center at 3029 W Muhammad Ali Blvd Louisville, KY 40212.  The first 500 students will receive a take-home bag full of healthy food and high protein snacks from KAHP.  Toothbrushes are also included courtesy of Delta Dental. Kentucky’s Medicaid managed care organizations will have booths where kids can pick up great activities to enjoy over spring break including jump ropes, games, art projects and more.

“Kentucky’s health plans know that food insecurity is a serious concern for many JCPS families and school breaks are especially difficult,” said Katherine Kington North vice president of external affairs for KAHP.  “We’re aiming to help alleviate those issues and also send the kids home with some fun activities to enjoy during their time off.”

Jefferson County Public Schools Spring Break begins Apr.1
